Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to volunteer or attend meetings to be a member?
Not at all! There are no participation requirements. Many members simply want to support NHLA’s work financially through their membership payment. Others choose to get involved by reviewing bills, testifying at the State House, helping at events, or supporting liberty-minded candidates. How involved you become is entirely up to you.
How does my membership help NHLA?
Your membership helps sustain NHLA’s volunteer-powered work, including the tools required to review legislation, publishing the Gold Standard and Liberty Ratings, informing voters, training activists, and holding elected officials accountable. Even if you never volunteer, your support helps make this work possible.
What does my NHLA membership include?
Full members can vote in NHLA board elections, receive member-only communications, pitch bills at the Legislative Summit and access GenCourtMobile (a resource for following New Hampshire legislation). There are often discounted ticket rates to NHLA events and you can make announcements at Power Hour which will also be emailed to our mailing list.
What’s the difference between annual and lifetime membership?
Annual membership costs $50 per year and renews annually. Lifetime membership is a one-time payment of $500, with no annual membership renewal required. Both provide full membership benefits.
Can my spouse or partner join too?
Absolutely! When purchasing an annual membership, you can add a second membership for your spouse or partner for a total of $100 per year. You’ll each have your own membership and voting rights.
Can I give someone an NHLA membership as a gift?
Yes! Select the gift option when signing up to purchase a membership for someone else.
Can I contribute more or become more involved?
Of course! You can make an additional donation, volunteer, attend our weekly Liberty Power Hour, or get involved in legislative advocacy. We welcome whatever level of participation works for you.
