# NH Liberty Alliance

> The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance is a non-partisan coalition working to increase individual freedom in New Hampshire. We do this by monitoring bills in the legislative sessions and encouraging private charity, a civil society, and citizen involvement.

## Liberty Ratings and legislators

- [Liberty Rating search](https://www.nhliberty.org/ratings/): Every New Hampshire legislator's Liberty Rating for the current session, searchable by name, party, chamber and district.
- [Liberty Ratings reports](https://www.nhliberty.org/liberty-ratings/): The annual ratings reports as published documents.
- [Legislator profiles](https://www.nhliberty.org/ratings/legislator/): One page per legislator rated since 2006, at /ratings/legislator/<slug>/ using the Ratings API's slug: every year's grade and the scored votes.
- [Legislators by town](https://www.nhliberty.org/locations/): One page per New Hampshire town at /locations/<town>/ (lowercase, hyphens, no apostrophes), listing every district and legislator; ward cities also have /locations/<city>/ward-<n>/.
- [Districts](https://www.nhliberty.org/districts/): One page per House and Senate district at /districts/<district>/, e.g. /districts/rockingham-02/.
- [Liberty Ratings API](https://api.nhliberty.org/docs): Free, read-only JSON API with every legislator's rating and votes, 2006 onward. No key needed. To find who represents a town, call /v1/districts?town=<Town> and report every district returned: most towns are in more than one House district as well as a Senate district.
- [Liberty Ratings API specification](https://api.nhliberty.org/openapi.yaml): OpenAPI 3.1.
- [Liberty Ratings API guide for AI assistants](https://api.nhliberty.org/llms.txt): How to answer "who represents me", read a vote and interpret the grades, including what the data does not cover.
- [Liberty Ratings MCP server](https://api.nhliberty.org/mcp): Model Context Protocol endpoint, read-only and needing no key, with tools for a town's legislators, one legislator's record and votes, and the grade key.

Grades are not a plain A-F scale. CT ("Constitutional Threat") is a published grade below F, not missing data. INC and SPKR also appear, and a percentage can exceed 100. The ratings cover sitting legislators only, not candidates.

## Legislation and elections

- [Gold Standard](https://www.nhliberty.org/gold-standard/): NHLA's vote recommendations on the bills before the legislature, every session day since 2011, with the reasons. One page per year at /gold-standard/<year>/.
- [2026 candidate endorsements](https://www.nhliberty.org/2026-candidate-endorsements/): Candidates NHLA endorses. Endorsements are chosen by a committee; ratings are computed from roll-call votes.
