STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine
AN ACT relative to the legal age for blood donations.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Minor Blood Donations. Amend RSA 571-C:1 to read as follows:
571-C:1 Minor Blood Donors.
I. Any minor of sound mind who has attained the age of 17 years or any married minor regardless of age may donate blood in any voluntary and noncompensatory blood program without the necessity of obtaining the consent of any parent, guardian, or any other person having the care and custody of such minor.
II. Any minor of sound mind who has attained the age of 16 may donate blood in any voluntary and noncompensatory blood program if the minor provides written consent from the minor’s parent, guardian, or any other person having the care and custody of such minor.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
