AN ACT relative to reclassification of the position of forensic toxicologist in the department of safety.

ANALYSIS

This bill makes the position of forensic toxicologist a classified position in the department safety. It previously had been an unclassified position, filled by the senior physician and director of Medicaid services in the department of health and human services.

This bill is a request of the department of safety.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to reclassification of the position of forensic toxicologist in the department of safety.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

52:1 Forensic Toxicologist Position Reclassified. There is established within the department of safety, division of state police forensic laboratory, an additional criminalist position to serve as state toxicologist at such labor grade and step as shall be determined by the director of personnel. The comptroller, upon request of the department of safety, is authorized to transfer sufficient funds from PAU 02-15-04-16-03, class 12, personal services-unclassified, allocated to the unclassified position of senior physician and director of Medicaid in the department of safety operating budget to class 10, personal services-permanent, to support the salary of the new classified position.

52:2 Senior Physician and Director of Medicaid. Amend RSA 94:1-a, I(b) by deleting the following:

II Department of health and human services senior physician and director of Medicaid

52:3 Repeal. RSA 21-P:4, X, relative to the nomination and appointment of the forensic toxicologist, is repealed.

52:4 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
