Elections Results

For the 2016 election season, the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance endorsed a total of 131 candidates. Of these, 24 candidates lost their primary leaving 107 endorsed candidates going into the general election. We are pleased to report that of these 107 candidates, 71 candidates won their general election race. In total, more than 66% of endorsed candidates in the general election won their race. Find the full list here.

The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance PAC has sent out over $33,000 in campaign donations to endorsed candidates this election cycle. Can you help us rebuild our campaign chest? Set up a monthly donation to our PAC now of any amount you would like to contribute at: http://www.nhliberty.org/campaign-fund.

Note the proposed bylaws changes below will raise membership fees, so upgrade or renew now and put your membership fees towards the PAC!

Proposed Bylaws Changes

At our Board meeting held on Sunday, Oct 9, 2016, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to consider the proposed bylaws amendments found here. The intent was to raise membership prices and use approval voting for board elections (considered as two separate amendments).

At the November Meeting, the board voted to finalize the approval voting change. The membership fee increase, however, was not approved, but rather amended, to reduce the price increases and fix a wording issue. See the revised bylaws change here.

All NHLA members are encouraged to review these proposed changes and provide any feedback to the Board at
board@lists.nhliberty.org. Per the procedure for changing the bylaws, they must be approved a second time by at least 4/5 of the Board prior to taking effect. The next Board meeting is scheduled to take place on December 8.

Board Election Results

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote in our recent board election. Keith Ammon was elected as Chair and Jeffrey Creem was re-elected as Research Director. Vote counts can be found here.

Much thanks to Paul Best for his hard work during his term as Chair. Paul put in many long hours and late nights. He always made sure that all voices were heard and thoughtfully considered, and that the organization was operating smoothly. We would like to express our gratitude to Paul for his commitment and service to Liberty, and we look forward to seeing what great things he does next.

Legislative Summit

The NHLA gathered 25 Pro-Liberty legislators and activists at Area 23 in Concord on November 12th.  Legislative priorities were proposed, debated, and ultimately ranked.  There are many Pro-Liberty issues that NHLA will be tracking and supporting, with extra attention planned for issues where we may be a primary voice or be one of the prominent groups in a coalition.  Highly ranked legislative efforts include:  Repealing the ban on hand-held cell phones in motor vehicles, supporting home cultivation for medical cannabis patients, supporting school choice, allowing opt-out of occupational licensing, and promoting Constitutional Carry.
